Captain’s BZ

Captain Sea Cadets celebrates some of the achievements of cadets and units around the UK

BZ is a naval term that means ‘well done’. It comes from the Bravo and Zulu nautical signal flags being flown together.

Unit climbs three peaks

BZ to the Poole cadets who climbed the three highest mountain peaks in Wales, Scotland and England. By climbing Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike they raised enough money through sponsorship to cover the costs of running their Sea Cadets unit for several weeks!

Earthshot Challenge

BZ to all the juniors who have received their Earthshot Module certificates so far. It’s fantastic to see so many junior sea cadets taking part in this new module and doing their bit for the environment.

Recycle Week

BZ to Chelmsford Unit, which took part in Recycle Week and Chelmsford’s Big Clean-Up. Cadets used their skills on the water to collect lots of litter from the river and riverbanks in the city centre. This not only improves the look of the rivers but prevents this plastic pollution from harming wildlife or being washed further downstream.
