Help us to refit Royalist

We need to raise £500,000 to ensure young people can continue having life-changing offshore adventures onboard the Sea Cadets flagship

TS Royalist

TS Royalist, the beloved flagship of the Sea Cadet Corps, is set to undergo a vital refit to mark its 10-year anniversary. Unlike the regular winter maintenance, this refit is more comprehensive, ensuring the vessel meets the highest safety standards for the coming decade. Safety is paramount for Sea Cadets and this thorough review will ensure the ship remains a secure training ground for thousands more cadets.

The extensive refit, necessary to keep TS Royalist in prime condition, will span two years of work, strategically planned around the sailing schedule. This phased approach allows us to continue our cadet courses offshore while the appeal raises the funds we need.

Key elements of the refit include replacing both generators and removing the mast for a thorough inspection, among other essential maintenance tasks. The total cost is £860,000 but thanks to generous contributions from the Naval Club and the Uren Foundation, a significant portion of the funds has already been secured. However, £500,000 still needs to be raised urgently to meet the target.

We invite all supporters to join this crucial appeal and help us secure the future of TS Royalist for the next generation of sea cadets. To learn more and support the appeal, please visit sea-cadets.org/tsroyalistappeal. Your contribution will make a significant difference in maintaining the excellence and safety of our flagship.
