Midlands Boat Station almost ready for action

Progress has been made at our new boat station and it's nearly ready to welcome cadets for life-changing experiences

Midlands Boat Station

Since breaking ground on the new Midlands Boat Station in 2023, the project has passed a number of milestones.

Howard Eeles, Midlands Boat Station Manager, said, “This project has been interesting and exciting for the team to watch coming to life, from the drawings we saw back in 2022. We are all looking forward to having the facility finished, so we can get on with providing the amazing Sea Cadets Experience this facility will give our young people.”

Liz Marsh, MSSC Property Advisor, has visited to check on progress. “The internal walls are up so all the rooms are clearly laid out now and you can walk into each classroom, dormitory, office and activity space. It’s very exciting!”

RMC Estelle from Birmingham Vernon Unit also shared her anticipation:
“I am excited to move in as it is going to be much bigger than before. There will be lots of space for lessons. I’m looking forward to going on the water and getting involved in all the boating activities.”

The project remains on course to be completed in summer 2024.
