Northern Area

Congratulations go to AC Andrew who has been named a Lord Lieutenant Cadet for East Lothian. He’ll accompany the Lord Lieutenant to formal events, in his Sea Cadets uniform, such as remembrance services, citizenship ceremonies, royal visits or military parades. 

North West

Area Officer of North West Area Cdr Charlie Bagot-Jewitt has raised more than £3,500 on a cycling tour of his native Staffordshire. Raising funds for community projects across the county, with the  300-mile tour Charlie also aimed to promote Staffordshire and its various tourist attractions. 

South West

‘Twenty’ was the magic number for Weymouth Sea Cadets this summer, in the absence of parading in person. Instead of doing nothing during the social distancing restrictions, they enjoyed a series of events on the theme of ‘20’ to mark the year of 2020. Challenges included 60 sits-ups for 20 days, 20km bike rides, and selling baked goods to 20 different groups. 

Eastern

Bedford Sea Cadets (pictured pre-COVID) is to benefit from a funding boost of more than £2,500 thanks to an award from the mayor of Bedford Borough, Dave Hodgson. The money was raised at a series of local events, with Sea Cadets one of three local charities to benefit. 

London

A cadet from Richmond has finally received her ceremony and formally become a Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for London. POC Elizabeth was due to be appointed in March, but it was delayed by the pandemic. She has now taken up her duties as much as current restrictions can allow.

Southern

Winchester cadets are celebrating after moving into their new permanent home in the city’s Worthy Down barracks. Having been allocated temporary facilities in the last three years, they’ve now taken up a space provided by the Ministry of Defence. Parading will take place as soon as possible, once the site is brought up to Sea Cadets’ COVID-19 guidelines.
