Take part in our new competition to photograph your Sea Cadets moments

Exciting news for our cadets – we have a brand-new photo competition! To support and celebrate the adventurous spirit of Sea Cadets, the Square Riggers Club (SRC) has announced its first photography and media competition.

Under the theme Beyond Boundaries, the competition encourages sea cadets to submit captivating photos or other media forms that showcase diverse individuals breaking barriers, achieving new milestones, or highlighting inclusive group dynamics.

The competition aims to capture the essence of life aboard Sea Cadets offshore vessels, and has two prizes: the President’s Prize includes a £100 voucher for the winning digital photo, and the McBeath Memorial Award offers a £100 voucher to the winner and a £400 cash prize to the unit with the best media form.

To ensure cadets’ safety and privacy, a secure submission system and file-naming convention have been established. The competition will run until 31 December 2024, with prizes awarded in February/March 2025.

All submissions should be emailed to competitions@ms-sc.org following the specified file-naming rules. The judging criteria include sticking to the theme, creativity and representation of the 2024 sailing season. Let the sea adventures unfold through the lens of Sea Cadets! Find out more here.
