Introducing the First Sea Lord’s Cadets for 2026
Every year a cadet from each area is selected as a First Sea Lord’s Cadet. Their role includes representing Sea Cadets and having a chance to see the work of senior Royal Navy officers.

Six outstanding cadets will represent Sea Cadets and the Royal Navy with pride this year, following their recent investiture ceremony with the First Sea Lord, General Sir Gwyn Jenkins KCB OBE ADC, onboard HMS Victory. Here, we take a look at their unique talents and impressive achievements!

Leading Cadet Satvik, Leicester Unit, Eastern Area
A keen advocate for his fellow cadets, Satvik has made valuable contributions to the Central District Cadet Voice Forum and the National Cadet Conference. An Advanced First Aider, he is most passionate about getting on the water – representing his unit and district in several regattas and taking part in Bronze and Silver DofE rowing expeditions (he is currently working towards his Gold Award). Satvik qualified as a Paddlesport Instructor in June 2025 and is now preparing for assessment as a Rowing Instructor.

Cadet Corporal Adam, Walton-on-the-Naze Unit, London Area
Adam’s love of outdoor challenge made him a vital member of his unit’s winning team in London Area’s 2024 Chosin Cup (adventurous training competition). Then, as Section Commander during the Gibraltar Cup at CTCRM Lympstone in 2025, he led Lima Company to their first victory in 22 years – displaying outstanding leadership and tactics. Adam is proud to take part in high-profile community events and strives to pass on his knowledge to younger cadets. His ambition is to join the Royal Marines as a Commando Combat Medic.

Petty Officer Cadet Rebecca, Penarth Unit, South West Area
Reaching the rank of Petty Officer Cadet in October 2025, Rebecca excels in rowing and paddlesports and has proudly represented South Wales District in competitive drill. Describing her voyage on TS Royalist – in the first leg of the 2025 Tall Ships Races – as “the best experience I’ve had in Sea Cadets to date, by far”, Rebecca was named ‘Cadet of the Voyage’ for her exceptional contribution to a second-place finish. She has previously thrived in an official role as Mayor’s Cadet for Penarth.

Cadet Corporal Harry, Gosforth Unit, Northern Area
A valued member of the National Cadet Voice Team, Harry has been part of two successful Cadet Conferences and represented the charity at the Labour and Conservative Party Conferences in 2025 – winning praise from Veterans Minister Louise Sandher-Jones MP. His commitment and self-discipline have helped him to gain his Advanced Shooting badge, reach the National Drill & Piping Competition in 2023 and become a Royal Marines Cadet Drill Leader in 2025. Harry’s ambition is to become a Royal Marines Commando and specialise as a Mountain Leader.

Leading Cadet Hadley, Accrington & District Unit, North West Area
Hadley’s enthusiasm has helped him gain an array of qualifications on the water – including Offshore Sail Watch Leader, Offshore Sail Seaman and SCC Coxswain. As a holder of a Full-Bore Marksman badge, his passion for shooting and commitment to sharing his expertise has sparked a revival of the discipline in East Lancashire District. Hadley’s skill-at-arms has also seen him win several medals for North West Area and the Sea Cadets Corps in national competitions.

Cadet Corporal Evan, Maidenhead Unit, Southern Area
A keen dinghy sailor and ambassador for the Royal Navy Sailing Association Youth Crew, Evan got to speak about his passion with HRH The Princess Royal in 2025 – a year in which he also earned his Offshore Seaman qualification aboard TS Royalist. His proudest achievement came as one of just six cadets to earn Gold Wings at RNAS Yeovilton in 2025, and he hopes to be a ‘Junglie’ pilot with the Royal Marines Commando Helicopter Force.
